Have you ever been to our vineyard or others and wondered why there are rose bushes planted at the end of the rows of grapes? We have had plenty ask, so here is a little explanation.
🌹Not only are they beautiful but there is a reason:🌹
The main reason why roses are planted in vineyards, is because both the roses and grapes, are susceptible to the same diseases caused by fungus, roses and grapes are extremely compatible. They have very similar irrigation, sun, and fertilizer needs and they tend to do well in similar soils and climates. Roses can provide a great habitat for beneficial insects that prey on vineyard pests. With that being said if something happens to the rose bush we will know to start watching the Vines.
